Claire, a Drama Teacher and dancer, was enjoying all the festivities of Christmas shopping when she slipped over on a wet supermarket floor which hadn't been marked with any hazard signage. 

In a matter of moments, Claire's life changed. The knee damage and mental trauma suffered due to her accident stopped her from being the active, happy go lucky person she was before. After a little while, she realised something needed to be done.

Having endured severe stomach pain for a while, pain which she regularly visited her doctor for, Katie was eventually admitted to hospital. Quickly discharged without any real treatment, she was soon back in A&E two weeks later. After several misdiagnoses, doctors eventually found that Katie's appendix had not only ruptured, but has also seriously damaged her fallopian tube and ovaries - damage that will potentially prevent Katie from ever having children naturally. 

With her experience, physical pain and mental suffering in mind, Katie's Mum came to National Accident Helpline for help.
